You do appear to have slept through history. MLK strongly opposed segregation, he did not say integration was a mistake, he was afraid that the majority of African Americans would successfully integrate leaving behind a substantial minority of African Americans who would remain segregated and be forgotten. This was a valid concern.

We celebrate MLK as a holiday because he is national hero. Sad, that you would lay claim to "owning" his legacy based of his skin color. Great Americans belong to all of us.
Have you really studied the history of slavery. Slavery was not unique to North America. In fact, slavery had its shortest existence in North America and thankfully, Britain and the US after outlawing slavery in their respective countries suppressed it globally at great cost.

When you accept that Africans were practicing slavery for thousands of years, you begin to realize your view is somewhat self-serving and provincial.
My family never owned a slave in the 800+ years we can trace our family history. 70% of my grandchildren are African American. My descendant's future is dependent on social integration.
So, I have as much of a right as you to bring up MLK and speak on the issue of diversity and equality.
