When you start putting single black mothers in jail, you should look at the specifics and decide whether to move forward or not.

What would you have done in the case below. I know what I would have done.

I employed a black woman, who suffered from similar health issues. I could have treated her like everyone else... miss to many days... you are fired, no excuses.

But I didn't. I worked with her and even had to fight the union over giving her "special treatment". Empathetic people do that.

Harris's job did include making the decision who to prosecute. What would you have done in the case of this woman. I know what I would have done... first and foremost, I would have looked at the facts and I see no way that justice was served harassing this woman. Apparently, there were many similar cases.

Truancy is an issue, but when you begin to put parents in jail, you better know the reason behind the truancy. As you like to say, knowledge is power.
