"We’ve reached the point in capitalism where these corporations are quite literally choosing to dictate what we spend our money on for us, taking advantage and forcing us to devote an increasing percentage of our budgets to a product they know so many people depend on simply because they can."

These corporations are the same ones that were around in 2019, they have not changed. So, what has changed? Perhaps policies in Washington that have a much bigger impact on prices than many people realize.

Trump was obnoxious as the post states, but he also understood economy and his policies promoted economic growth, wage growth, and job growth. People put up with him for those reasons. They "hoped beyond all hope" that Biden would simply continue Trump's policies, while "ending the pandemic" (he promised to do that in 100 days). He has done neither and his approval ratings are less than Trump's despite Trump's obnoxious personality.

The problem was never capitalism, but rather when the government tries to manage the economy, the cost of things go up.
