Those who engage in fearmongering and hate whether as politicians or the media share the blame with respect to the assassination attempt on Trump. Biden has participated in this kind of talk four more than four years... he is not innocent.

As a result, an impressionable young man is dead along with the fire chief who was killed and two other innocent citizens that were injured because a troubled young man may have been persuaded by the repeated narrative of people ranging from Biden to the media, that Trump intended to become dictator. Ludicrous as that assertion is, repeat it often enough, and some people will believe it. One young man may have felt he could "save the country" from becoming a "dictatorship", if Democrats don't "own" their role in this event, then it will happen again.

This is no time to deflect, since literally less than 72 hours after the event the President, the media, and many others are back at it. And it may well happen again, the target may be Trump, Biden, JFK Jr. You seem to focus on one statement by Biden and it would be wrong to suggest that one statement was likely behind the shooter's decision to assassinate Trump, but it would not be unreasonable to suggest a non-stop attempt to paint Trump as evil over almost a decade combined with Trump's recent rise in the polls and topped off with the recent nonsense about Trump wanting to become dictator could well have been behind this young man's act.

It is not the time for Democrats to deflect blame but accept blame. The best way to accept blame is to call for an end to all fearmongering. Let Biden and Democrats compete on policy.

Democrats and Republicans both know that fear and greed are great motivators of human behavior. But playing on fear comes with consequences... time for Democrats to admit their bad behavior and stop it... now. But instead, Democrats have already returned to such behaviors.

Republicans are not innocent of such behavior, so this response does not suggest they are, however, it should be noted that historically for the last 70 years, Democrats for one reason or another are quicker to resort to violence than Republicans and in far greater numbers.

If Democrats do not tone down this behavior, then if history is any gauge, things are going to get very ugly when if the polls are correct Trump wins in November. It will likely make the rioting of several hundred middle aged to elderly citizens on January 6th look like a "joke" (and it was no joke).

If Democrats believe they can do a better job running the country, than stand up and argue your policies and explain why they have not worked for the average American over the last four years (don't argue they have, people are not stupid and stop treating them that way) and why things will be different over the next term... enough of the fearmongering.
