Those who are purely Trump, the man, fans, will have to reevaluate where they stand.
But the Republican party has benefited greatly by Trump's policies which caused it to be much more attractive to wage working men and women of all races. As a result, a dramatic increase in POCs joining the party is expanding it greatly and laying the groundwork for the party to be the majority party in the coming years.
Look at the make-up of the 2020 GOP elected House members, only one was a white male, and he was a vet (a good thing). Hispanic GOP support expanded to nearly one third of all Hispanics. African American support is also beginning to expand albeit more slowly. Asians are asking if the Democrat party has turned against them and Jews are feeling the heat from anti Semites among the Democratic leadership in Washington. These are all factors likely to shake the grip the Democrats have enjoyed on POCs over the last few decades.
The new Republican party is about economic growth, job growth, and wage growth economically more than conservatism per se.
It is about equal civil rights and reducing barriers to equal opportunity rather than imposing "equity" through income and wealth redistribution.
It is about safety and security both domestically, at the border, and with our military. Not weakening our military and defunding our police and losing control of our border.
I think this "new" Republican party is attractive to most working Americans and mothers who want their children to grow up in a safe country.
Without the "hate" the media has ginned up against Trump, the man, it could very well lead to 12 years of Republican control in Congress and the White House. It was amazing to see the racist comments directed against Tim Scott in his response to Biden's speech. Such racist comments did not sit well with my African American family members or my Asian wife. Without race as a club, the Democrats are pretty helpless.
