There is no limit to growth... let's start with the basics... food, energy, water, and shelter. The population is expected to peak in around 40 years and then begin to decline. There is plenty of capacity to feed, clothe, provide water, house, and energy to this population. Some will enjoy more and other less. But the resources exist. Even labor can be supplied by robotics and artificial intelligence.

And with that out of the way, humans are in the position to consume as much as their hearts desire provided it is "content". In the extreme version, people live in the metaverse when they are not engaged working and there is no limit to what they can enjoy there. How much of your day is spent consuming content and how much more would you consume if it were available.

Humans remain bound to their bodies and so much provide for their physical needs, but after that the sky's the limit in a world of virtual reality. Actually, I wonder what that world will be like. Will you interact virtually with people you know or develop friendships with people all over the globe, going to movies, restaurants, sporting events, traveling the globe, etc.

It really is hard to imagine how any growth will be limited someday other than by the mere ability of one human to consume... like food, you can eat better food, but there is a limit to how much food one person can eat. The same is likely true of the future, where you will consume as much as one human can consume and, in your brain, there will be little difference in the real and the virtual except as it relates to maintaining your physical being.

Getting there will be quite a ride, but I won't live long enough to experience more than a piece of it. It is natural to think at some point in the future humans hit a limit, but in a virtual world, that limit will be time... there will still be only 24 hours in a day. And so the goal will be to make every second as memorable and meaningful as possible.
