There is a lot of time between now and the Olympics. If someone is hurt on the US team and Clark excels in the WNBA, she may well be added to the team but not play or play much.
For example, Chelsea Gray is on the Olympic roster, but due to a foot injury has not played a game this season. So, at some point, they might drop her and add someone else.
But even if added as a last second replacement, she may not play simply because there is little time to integrate her into the team. Like all "team sports" winning is not determined by who has the best players, but who has the best team.
In high school, I played on a football team that never lost while I was in high school. I don't think we were comprised of better athletes than our opponents, we simply had a better team... mostly due to an amazing coach who had a lifetime record of 732-115-23 over three sports football, wrestling, and golf including 9 undefeated football seasons and a 48-game unbeaten streak (the years I played).
