The university should not be hiring "students" instead it should hire employees. The salaries should be posted, and people should apply to the jobs with preference given to non-students.

Meanwhile, professors are employees hired to teach. They don't need teaching assistants.

I want my children taught be professors. Keep it simple, professors are hired to teach, students pay tuition to learn. And non-professors-employees are hired to maintain the facility and administer the educational activities of the school.

I am not opposed to research, in fact, I support it. If a professor has time to do research after working full time as a professor, the professor can apply for a research grant. The professor should own the intellectual property they create working on their own time. If they need staff, let the professor get the funding to hire staff through the grant process.

"Student work study" programs should be minimum wage jobs that provide tuition relief.

If the jobs require highly paid skills, then it should not be a "student" job. The job should be posted and anyone qualified should be able to apply, not just students.
