The top 10% paid over 70% of the income taxes paid in this country and they earned around 30.2% of the reported income. So, their effective tax rate is a little more than twice as high as the rest of Americans.

But I agree the rich pay what they think is fair and if government tries to tax them above that, they find ways to shelter their income. So perhaps we should end this class warfare, it is not very productive.
