The Supreme Court has two primary functions... to block the federal and state governments from imposing laws that infringe on the human, civil, and legislative rights (in that order) of citizens and resolve disputes between the federal and/or state governments with other states. Why you want to eliminate the most important branch of government in our country from doing that function is beyond me... so can you explain?
Regarding the electoral college, the Democratic party has been losing members for the last several years as its ideology is increasingly becoming "less" centered. The Republican party has been gaining members. And the independents are increasing in numbers. So, without the electoral college, there is a reasonable chance, the Republicans will control the White House for at least the next decade. With the electoral college, either party could win the White House depending how independent voters in swing states lean. So, would you be more optimistic if the electoral college were eliminated knowing that could put conservatives in charge of government for at least 12 years, till they screw up as bad as the progressives did?
I like the electoral college because it puts pressure on both parties to stay "centered". Democrats went too far to the left under Obama and Biden and got slapped down. If Trump goes too far to the right, the same thing will happen to conservatives.
