The simple truth is thanks to Trump we have a Constitutional Supreme Court.
You worry about our democracy but look at the recent overturning of Roe v Wade. Rather than "reverse" Roe v Wade with and issue a conservative ruling from the bench, the simply said the previous Supreme Court overstepped their authority and returned the decision back to the various state legislatures... which last I heard are elected by the people of each state. Democracy at work... and by returning the decision to the states as (since the decision to rule on abortion was not a specific power granted to the Federal government), we are likely to get a situation where if abortion is an important issue to an individual, they can choose to live in a state with an abortion law they agree with... The Supreme Court has also put the President and the various agencies of the government on notice with their recent EPA ruling and mask mandate ruling, that they will not allow non legislative bodies to issue significant laws that impact of the lives of Americans. That job belongs to the... wait for it... democratically elected legislatures or the Congress... what a novel idea... expect legislative bodies to pass laws... rather than an "imperial Presidency" or his sidekicks heading various agencies.
You are missing the point, the current administration in the name of "saving democracy" has violated almost every principle of democracy and has threatened to curb civil rights and weaponize government agencies against the people. While you might agree with their ideology, if you are serious about protecting democracy, there is no way you can support their methods.
As you rant on about how "fanatical" the other side... what mandate did the "other side" pass that you had to comply with? Did the other side take more of your money through taxation? What law did the other side pass that restricted your civil rights or freedoms? Did the other side, prevent itself from being investigated by an independent counsel? Did the other side purge the military the way Biden has? I am really confused about what the "other side" has done to scare you?
