The FBI and the DOJ disagrees with you. Keep in mind, your opinion has been highly influenced by the media’s inaccurate reporting of the events and attempts to politicize the event.

DOJ is not finding any insurrectionists or seditionists from the 1–6 riot (independentsentinel.com)

FBI confirms there was no insurrection on Jan. 6 (msn.com)

All the evidence points to a mob having been incited by some provocateurs (though the FBI and DOJ have been extremely closed mouth and reluctant to allow members of Congress to question these people especially Ray Epps). This lack of transparency should be very concerning to every American and has led to conspiracy theories about exactly who these provocateurs were. My guess is if Republicans win one of the Houses of Congress this Fall, their investigation aided with subpoena powers will hopefully provide some additional clarity as to who was in the crowd inciting them.

But for the record are you suggesting that when Chuck Schumer threatened the Supreme Court, he was promising an insurrection if they did not see the issue like he did.

People do things when they are mad, that does not rise to the level of insurrection, even if it does rise to the level of a crime and evidence of stupidity. Insurrections by definition have an element of organization to them and are not spontaneous events.

I do believe those that rioted on January 6th committed a number of crimes, but insurrection was not one of them. As for interfering with Congress when it is in session, that is a lot more common than just January 6th. Again, you sound like you have let the media steer your opinion.

My favorite example of the media hype is when they initially described a “three-hour battle” between police armed with guns and the rioters in which sadly one person was killed. Have you ever heard of a three-hour battle at close quarters where only one person was killed? And can you imagine with thousands of DC police nearby that a battle was waging without the DC police thinking they ought to respond? Bottomline, don’t let the hyperbole of the media turn a riot that was generally less violent than those that occurred across America into some sort of battle for control of the nation.
