Sometimes your articles contain insight… this one is just poorly written, poorly thought out, full of errors, and downright a travesty of journalism.

People are not trying like crazy to immigrate to our country because it is failing but rather because it is succeeding. The poor in our country live like kings compared to most others.

Is America perfect… no. But hard working immigrants still flock to this country because unlike your article suggests, they find they can succeed and thrive in a way they cannot anywhere else in the world.

More important, we are perhaps the only country in the world not based on race but on a shared set of values as reflected in our Bill of Rights. And that gives allows us to graft people from all over the world into our country and for them to become “Americans”. All we ask is that they embrace those values.
