So what we have is bunch of accusations and allegations, but no charges filed by any entity doing the investigation. So at this point, Gaetz is innocent and we should all keep that in mind.

Also, if I read the allegations, no one is saying Gaetz is guilty of paying anyone cash for sex. But rather he paid expenses related to travel with someone he may or may not have had sex with. Most likely he did.

The article is also a bit fuzzy regarding whether Gaetz knew the age of the girl, instead it makes statements about someone Gaetz knew and then suggests Gaetz was "in on it".

If Gaetz is guilty, I hope they file charges against him... But it this turns out to be a smear campaign then every media source that "tried" him in the press should publish a front page full page statement claiming they libeled and innocent man. And pay him some amount of restitution for dragging his name through the mud.

We should all hope Gaetz gets due process and that justice is rendered. We should all condemn any attempt to smear someone based on unproven allegations and accusations.

As I said, let the chips fall where they fall... but let's be sure if it turns out he is innocent, that the people who spent so much defaming him show an equal amount of integrity by clearing his name.
