So now you are trying to "shame" me to feel bad about speaking the truth. I don't believe in pity parties and victimhood. And if you do, then your life will forever be held back by it.
I am very proud of my African American grandchildren and my Asian American children. They don't dwell on the color of their skin. Obama once said my skin color does not define me and yet I keep reading article after article of people appealing to others based on the color of their skin.
Obama went on to be elected President because millions of white people voted for him. Those who define themselves by the color of their skin rarely succeed.
My point was simple. Racism exists. It is found with people of all skin colors. Your experience as an African American may be different, but it is not unique. How would you categorize the recent racist hate assaults by African Americans on elderly Asians or Jews walking on the street?
Sadly recent studies show a dramatic rise in African American racism even as white racism is falling. Justified as being "victims fighting back", that simply does not pass when their victims are old Asians and Jews walking on sidewalk. Why do you think that is?
Let's end this constant focus on skin color and get on with meeting people where they are at. I fear Democrats and the media are promoting race identity politics and it has infected our whole society. Simply said, the more people try to express behavior as a function of "skin color", the more they are promoting racism. I object to that whenever I see it. I certainly don't want my five African American grandchildren and two Asian American grandchildren as seeing themselves to belonging to different "identity groups" as the song goes "we are family"...
