So, it appears you have issues with the Catholic church, not Butker. I have now read the speech for the 6th time and find only references consistent with those held by the Catholic church.

While the media has made a huge deal out of his speech, it should be noted that his speech was directed to graduates of a conservative Catholic University.

I have heard many Catholic bishops, archbishops, and even the Pope admonish people that Catholicism is not an ala carte faith (unlike Protestants, of which I am one). We have a joke that when Catholics have a difference of opinion they go to the Pople, when Protestants have a difference of opinion, we start a new denomination.

All of this gets around with my issue with those complaining about his speech... while I happen to agree with a lot of what he said... especially about the part that happiness will come from family and that while work is important, it is a poor substitute for the joys and rewards that come from family and the pride of see young people entrusted by God to you... grow up to be responsible citizens.

Perhaps the issue you are struggling with is your own. You say you believe in diversity but reject those who beliefs are different than your own.

You say you embrace inclusiveness; the leaders of progressive liberalism have come out an said 50% of America cannot handle democracy. Isn't that a bit hypocritical. The real question is how inclusiveness exists without tolerance of those who believe in what you don't.

Finally, equity rejects individual freedom since by definition it takes away from someone to give to someone else in order to achieve equal outcomes. That seems wrong and a violation of our core values of individual rights.

But in spite of that, I do support your right to believe what you believe until you try to impose those beliefs on others.
