So, I should assume the three black men that dragged a white woman under their car last week near where I live did so for racist reasons? Seems a bit misguided to make the presumptions without any evidence other than the skin color of the attackers and the victim.

I did not say anything that was not designated a hate crime is not racist. I said presuming and labeling all inter racial violence as racist promotes racist responses.

I lived through the race riots of 60s and was assaulted by a group of black youths because of the color of my skin. They felt it was their job to behave as racists to avenge racism. Racism was fanned by various groups... of the five blacks that assaulted me, two later became my friends and teammates.

Good writing starts not with running with the news but digging deeper and uncovering the truth. If this was a racially motivated act than racism should be acknowledged, if it was simply child abuse, then that is a different issue worth highlighting.
