Sadly, to many people are "vested" in the idea and "lie" that January 6th was anything more than the riot. Like many people these days they formed those beliefs when the media flooded the news with lies and misrepresentations of the facts.

They ignore the fact that both the DOJ and FBI have concluded it was not an insurrection but rather a spontaneous riot caused by an angry mob. Insurrections by definition are "organized" and not spontaneous, but they don't care about what the DOJ or FBI or even Webster has to say... they have made up their minds and don't try to confuse them with the facts.

Mind you not a single person involved in the riot has been charged with any crime outside of those normally resulting from a riot. The more interesting point is the FBI has refused to allow members of Congress to question several individuals identified as provocateurs of the riot, which in and of itself seems quite strange.

Hopefully, if Republicans gain control of at least one house of Congress this Fall, the FBI and those provocateurs will be subpoenaed in order to find out more than what the FBI or DOJ has been willing to share. The lack of transparency regarding these important witnesses lends credence to conspiracy theories.

But for now, January 6th was a riot... nothing more, nothing less. At least based on what the DOJ and FBI have concluded. But perhaps the media has information they are not sharing with these agencies, if so perhaps they should share it.

It is beginning to look a lot like when Adam Schiff claimed "facts" that later turned out to be fiction. Good reading, but not the truth.
