Russia is dying. The war with Ukraine is about to strip Russia of a whole generation of young people at a time the population is already "aging" due to a low fertility rate and Covid. The war is just compounding the problem, but even worse it is hitting the most productive segment of the population and hallowing it out.

Death rate: 16.7 deaths/1,000 population (2021)

The world is changing. At one time we feared over population and "running out of land". Now the more serious threat is running out of people!

Putin will be viewed by history as the "killer of the Russian people". At a time, they need to be preserving their people, Putin is hastening their demise.
