Regarding post operative regret with prostate surgery, that is a problem and we should not allow children to have them unless medically essential. But even among adult men, the current practice lacks in the area of providing patients complete information.

As an aside, when I was the CFO of one of Medicare’s largest program administrators we identified open heart surgery rates more highly correlated to heart surgeons than target patient population.

So, my concerns are broader than gender transition surgery.
