Race riots are a natural byproduct of identity politics grounded in post Marxist ideology. They share the common trait that all identity politics share, the dehumanizing of other identity groups (how else can anyone justify the murder of Jewish woman and babies on October 7th).

The more politicians especially those on the far left begin to assign labels to the "good groups" like victims or oppressed and the bad groups like oppressors or post western colonialist, you are simply laying the groundwork to justify violence.

Really not hard to understand. Regarding, the rape, murder, theft and plundering of colonial empires against other peoples around the globe the whole narrative fails when you compare the behavior of colonial powers to the behavior of indigenous kings. Without condoning the behavior of colonial powers who occupied the top rung within the social class structure of the countries they conquered, the evidence is that in many cases they were compassionate than the indigenous leaders, who occupied the same rung countries ruled by native leaders.

In contrast, to today's "narrative" about the cruel colonial powers, in many instances they were asked to "conquer" a country by the middle class who felt rule under the colonial governments would be more just than under their native leaders. To be clear, there were exceptions of good native governments and horrible colonial ones, but for the most part, the leadership in any country where the middle and lower classes had no political power was universally abusive.
