Progressive liberal ideology is all about finding identity groups creating a basis to declare them "victims" and enlisting them on that basis into the party. In the process, it really does not care about "fair".

The whole reason we have women's sports was recognition that biological differences that emerge with males at the onset of puberty cannot be mitigated by females no matter how hard they train. Ignoring that reality makes a mockery of female sports.

Bottom line, while these days ideology tries to define reality in some instances the "reality" is so obvious, that unless someone chooses to "live a lie", they will come to the same conclusion. In this instance, that conclusion is that cannot provide a level playing field if you include biological women on the same field as transgender women or even biological women supplementing their bodies with male hormones (which is why we test for that).

Equal civil rights for members of the LBGTQ+ society does not mean transwomen can play women sports; it means they have the same civil rights that everyone else enjoys... those are distinctly different things. As an aside, where studies show no biological advantage, we probably should eliminate the men and women sports and simply have "all gender" sports.
