Poor sleep can be a function of physical and neurological issues. The former most commonly expresses itself as an obstruction to the airway. If you snore or find your airway collapses, you could be suffering from sleep apnea, talk to your physician about getting tested.
Some people have a neurological issue, that causes them to suffer inadequate deep restful sleep. This is called central sleep apnea. If you are tired all the time even after following good sleep habits and you don't snore but wake up frequently, it might be your problem.
Good sleep habits can make a huge difference, but don't ignore the possibility that physical or neurological factors are at play and they won't be resolved with good sleep habits.
