Not disputing that it is commonplace for administrations to hire people from previous administrations, whether it is good for the country is up for debate.

As you mention, the country gets experienced bureaucrats, but at the expense of people that have lost touch with the world outside of Washington.

Kamala Harris recently told West Virginia coalminers that they could be redeployed clearing minefields in foreign countries. Seriously? Our career politicians have lost touch with everyday people.

Meanwhile, Kerry travels the country in his private jet speaking about the threat of climate change.

Do these sound like people that we can trust to understand the challenges of regular folks.
