Let's talk about slavery as it is a subject, I have read a great deal on. Rather than write a long tomb, I will break it up into chunks, we can end the discussion anytime you want.

Slavery as an institution went back to before Jews were enslaved to build pyramids and continues non-stop to this day especially in part of Africa. If you throw in human trafficking, there are over 50 million slaves today and it is tragic that this issue is not more important in a country that abhors its "slave" past.

My daughter raises money annually to end sex trafficking and it is one of her most important "causes". So, for starters less agree slavery is an institution that has virtually always existed and still exists and focusing narrowly on the US slave experience while ignoring the general topic of slavery has problems, since it will inevitably ignore the underlying reasons, slavery exists.

So, with that as background, let's delve into slavery in America. But before that do you have any issues with the broad statement slavery has always existed and continues to this day?
