Interesting point. Not sure how many owners would abandon Tesla over Musk's politics, since the "platform" has so many unique features you can't get in other cars (one of my favorite is "dog mode".
But it might dissuade new potential buyers, who are shopping for an EV for the first time, to not consider Tesla.
I don't like Facebook's Zuckerberg attempts to influence elections, but I am still on Facebook. I consider dropping it every now and then, but it feels like such behavior at some level is stupid. At level, economic boycotts to coerce political behavior by companies and their owners seems wrong. I do support economic boycotts when humans are being abused or hurt by a company's product, not because of their position on a political issue.
