If Trump's argument is that the impeachment is unconstitutional, then there is simply no reason to attend. In that sense, choosing not to attend merely emphasizes that the trial is inappropriate given Trump is no longer in office.

If Dems think Trump is guilty of breaking the law in someway, they are free to pursue him in Federal court where a case involving an ex President belongs. The fact that 45 Senators have signed a letter to that effect makes the trial largely a bit of drama...

Mr Raskin's letter is not for Trump but rather directed at the public. I am sure Trump's lawyers have made their position clear. As a result, I am disgusted by this type of behavior and Mr Raskin should be ashamed of himself. But then many Democrats have gotten so use to getting deep down in the mud... they have lost their sense of shame...

Everyone on the right and left should condemn these "monkey" trials being carried out in the media to destroy someone's reputation. Most recently Kavanaugh and Barrett were subjected to this despicable process. We live in a country where people are entitled to due process and innocence until proven guilty. And sadly, those people we elect to protect those civil rights... glibly ignore them...

Why are Democrats so focused at creating "new entitlements" while they ignore those that already exist.
