I wonder how many states and towns I am registered in? I have lived in twelve states and multiple cities in some of those states. As a voter, i have always registered to vote and I know from past experience I have been contacted as an "active voter" in places I have not lived in years.
So, the question is how do you keep your voter registration records up to date? What is the point of voter of registration if they are not up to date?
Perhaps we need a national voter database that gets updated regularly using various private, state and federal databases. I was a Board member of a company that tracked down people on behalf of the government, whose wife and child were on Medicaid because the person failed to add them to their insurance at work. It is amazing how much information is available to track down where people live. The government should simply maintain a centralized database and allow states and localities to confirm addresses.
Voters who appear to live in more than one place as I might, should receive a card from the Federal government to confirm where the person resides.
Lastly, we need to reaffirm the laws against voting after you have died.
