I wish you did a bit more analysis and a little less opining. Pretty clear now that the FBI records have been released that the failure on January 6th lies clearly with Nancy Pelosi, since the FBI warned of a planned riot and Trump as well as law enforcement agencies offered her assistance which she declined. No amount of blame shifting will change that.

As for the Republican party, it is pretty normal for the kind of recriminations that are going on to occur after an election. But the truth is, that Republicans will largely vote Republican when the opponent is a progressive liberal Democrat or moderate Democrat with no backbone.

So the question is simply which candidates might be "primaried" and the same issue applies to Democrats facing opponents who are more moderate or more progressively liberal than they are.

What is unnerving Democrats because they are clueless as that Trump Democrats are not returning to the Democratic party because Trump is no longer in office and their support among historically suburban white women that opposed Trump the personality does not translate into anti Republican feelings in general or anti Trump policy feelings.

This is a serious threat to Democrats who are scrambling to find administrative options to secure their power. Yet these actions are also beginning to make the same people they need to appeal to uncomfortable. Whether it is open borders with illegal immigration over 80K a day or the elimination of good paying energy jobs in the middle of high unemployment, or the failure of Biden to get the schools open... the Dems are scared and they will keep bringing up Trump as long as they can to deflect from their actions...

Meanwhile, Democratic heroes like Cuomo are facing unprecedented backlash for his handling of the pandemic and Newsom is facing a recall vote. The Democrats remind me of a lake full of ducks trying to look calm on the surface while they paddle like crazy as things are already starting to come undone.
