I think you should take what you read from the media outlets with a grain of salt.

Remember all the CIA experts that signed an open letter that the Hunter Biden laptop was a hoax and Russian misinformation. It was released as if they were certain, even though Hunter's laptop was in the possession of the FBI and they knew it was not a hoax.

LIkewise, the FBI, CIA and Mueller all knew the Steele Dossier was a hoax. But continued to allow the media to treat it as authentic.

And then of course, Comey fed misinformation to the media which they gobbled up and spread as truth to demand an investigation of Trump collusion which was also a hoax.

Meanwhile based on the released redacted documents, it seems the FBI and DOJ were focused on retrieving government documents Trump intended to use in his RICO lawsuit.

While claiming they were looking for nuclear documents, no redacted documents that I am aware of that remotely resemble a confidential nuclear document has been released. But it did serve the FBI well to claim they were searching for nuclear documents in order to get an immediate search warrant.
