I think when Black Lives Matter and other African American groups aligned themselves with Hamas, that all black people got painted with the same brush. The perception that blacks are a monolithic group, that does not think for themselves is supported by the abuse conservative African Americans experience for simply holding different opinions.

I support your desire to be thought of as an individual capable of forming her own opinions and not being a slave to the political pressure to conform to any identity group.

As for the Jews, I understand their frustration since when African Americans were fighting for their Civil Rights, they stood alongside them. And now when Hamas and others are shouting for the elimination of Jews in Israel, powerful African American political leaders are siding with Hamas that wants to kill them.

Hamas embraces values that dictate that non-Muslim men (including all women) are not entitled to the same civil rights as a Muslim man. They have no tolerance for members of the LGBTQ+ community. I do think it is time African Americans separate themselves from affiliation with any black leader that would support denying fellow humans the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness including religious freedom and social freedom.
