I have never met an evangelical Christian that condones Trump’s womanizing or his bullying. Their support for Trump is based on his support of religious freedom… Christians are not voting for their religious leader, but their “secular” one… they are not looking for a “paragon of virtue”, but instead someone that won’t use the government to persecute them.
In an age where the left want to impose political correctness on the nation, Trump stands in stark opposition to that. Evangelicals know their “beliefs” are not the same as those that define “political correctness” in this country. And as a result their civil liberties are at risk. Which is why a President that defends civil liberties including through judicial appointments is going to get the evangelical vote.
If the left wants to separate Trump from evangelicals stand up and defend religious freedom and reconcile differences between the beliefs of people who both have civil liberties through the process of accommodation and not Department of Justice bullying…
