I do not think the underlying issue with Jill Biden's "Doctoral Degree" has anything to do with her being a woman.

I ran physician groups for much of my life, it is pretty obvious that many people get confused when people use the term "doctor".

So confused in fact, that many of my "doctors" did not want to be referred to as "doctors" but rather physicians. They constantly expressed concern when patients expressed they were following recommendations from a "doctor" that were ridiculous only to find the "doctor" was not a physician...

The confusion can be quite dangerous and even kill people. When a non medical "doctor" in the media gives a medical opinion or any opinion outside their field of study, it is just that and opinion with no specific education around the issue.

When the media fails to mention these people are not a physician, but simply refers to them as "Doctor _______", it can kill people. Whether that be someone like Dr. Biden or Dr. Phil (his degree is clinical psychology not psychiatry) or Dr Ruth (a sex therapist).

People need clarity whatever "gender" a doctor happens to be when they express "expert" opinions as to whether their education covers the subject on which they are opining.

If the discussion around Dr. Biden's degree and expertise leads to a solution to this serious issue, then it is a good thing. If it leads to cries of "misogyny" then it is foolish political nonsense.
