I am a Republican with traditional Republican values. My Asian wife is slightly more conservative than I am, and my African American grandchildren are more conservative than I am. Are you suggesting they are racists or that they would not support equal civil rights.
We are the party of Tim Scott, Nikki Haley, Ben Carson, and many other minorities. Our party is not defined by skin color, but our values as they relate to civil liberties and the roles of the marketplace vs government. If you agree that all people deserve equal rights, you to should consider joining the Republican party… if not, then don’t.
I refer you to some of Shelby Steele’s books. He has studied and written extensively on the subject. As an African American fellow at the Hoover Institute at Stanford with impressive credentials, he has condemned that modern day progressive liberal movement for its “racist” platform. Now you might not agree with him, but are you saying he is racist? And if he is not racist as an African American, what makes white Americans that agree with him… racist? Don’t you see the irony in the abuse of the term.
