With regard to definitions. Let's both agree to use a medical definition. Both fetus and unborn baby are accurate definitions...
The medical dictionary defines an unborn baby as: The developing young in the uterus, specifically the unborn offspring in the postembryonic period, which in humans is from the third month after fertilization until birth.
A baby that is not yet delivered and still exists in the mother's womb.
The use of the word "fetus" defines the state of an unborn baby beginning approximately 9 weeks after fertilization. By the time the baby reaches the fetus state, the baby's head makes up half its size.
Regarding response to stimuli, a one cell amoeba is not a human, so your example is not relevant. In addition, the amoeba does not have a neural network designed to register pain experience in one part of the body to another in order to trigger a response. Scientists believe by 12 weeks the unborn baby or if you prefer is registering pain but more severely than you do. Consider the most extreme pain you have ever experienced, and the unborn baby is experiencing worse pain than that.

Your response reminds me of why my friend likes fishing over hunting. Fish can't scream when they are dying. Makes you feel sad for the fish and then animals. Now think about the unborn baby.
When humans debate abortion, there are two narratives. The narrative grounded in facts and truth. That narrative accepts all the facts and makes a gut-wrenching decision in light of those facts. Whether pro-choice or pro-life the facts don't change, even if the final decision differs.
Then there are the "narratives". The baby does not feel anything. The baby is not a life, the baby is an appendage. These are all lies designed to persuade people on what position to take.
Bill Maher is an "honest" pro-choice advocate. He admits abortion is killing babies and he is okay with it for a variety of reasons that he makes clear.
