Her name is Chloe Cole and children are getting surgeries before age 18. You can verify her story through many media outlets.

As for the Epoch Times, when the news reported Hunter Biden's laptop as misinformation and social networks outright censored it, the Epoch Times's checked the NY Post's sources and said they were reliable... who was right?
When the mainstream media said Trump collusion with Russia was "fact", the Epoch Times investigation revealed it was "fake" news. Durham finally established that Hillary's campaign was behind the story. Only years later to the NYT say "oops".
I find the Epoch Times a very good check against the mainstream media, but like all news outlets, it needs to be fact checked. But given how often I have fact checked; it seems more reliable than the mainstream media since it seems less vulnerable to repeating Democratic talking points as if they were facts.
There are two obvious areas to be wary, when reading the Epoch Times. The opinion page includes opinions, that are not always facts, though they can be presented as such. I don't think the Epoch Times has the staff to fact check every opinion article. The paper is clearly anti Communist, especially communist China, and was founded by a religious group that is being persecuted in China, it is unfair to call them a cult when they are largely a Buddhist/Taoist religion. Typically, "cults" are defined as "personality" driven, with one person deemed to be the source of "truth". As a religious studies major, it was sad to see religious movements labeled as cults when they don't demonstrate any of the characteristics of a cult. Which characteristics of the group to do you think reflect "cult behavior". Read up on them. I respect their religious and ethical beliefs even if I don't subscribe to their religion.
As an aside, historically some of the most accurate reporting in America comes through religious publications like Christian Science Monitor, when reporting on subjects outside of their faith. Their religious roots make them somewhat immune from political correctness and woke ideology allowing them to report the news without fear of what the "woke" community wants them to say.
Meanwhile, it is simply wrong to do gender transitioning surgeries until after children are grown. If a child believes they are transgender and mental health experts believe there is good reason to believe they are, then providing them with all the non-surgical options until they attain adult status is something to consider. But as this story points out, surgery is not easily reversible, and teenagers are often confused.
I do encourage you to make sure you read a conservative source of news. I find the news so biased these days that I have to read/watch the Washington Times, Epoch Times and Fox News for a conservative viewpoint, the BBC and Reuters for a British viewpoint, CNN, the HuffPost, Washington Post and MSNBC for a progressive viewpoint. And then factcheck the differences. How do people who are not retired find the time to get "real news"?
A great example, have you read in a single liberal news outlet that the nearly trillion dollars Biden plans to spend on climate change policies is projected to impact the planet's climate by less than .1 degrees using the same climate models that they rely on to promote climate change? Have you read that CO2 levels have only just reached the lowest levels scientists believe are optimal for plants on this planet (we were at dangerous low levels previously). Sadly, the assumption that CO2 levels were optimal 200 years ago is based on a false premise, so why are we trying to turnback the clock? Climate change is real, but the first question we should be asking is not how to get back to low CO2 levels, but how to get to optimal ones assuming we could do that.
