Trump had an uncanny knack of seeing the "anti-Washington" attitude develop across America and position himself as its leader. But if he had not, someone else would have risen to that position. And that person would have been as demonized as Trump is today.

Rural America has totally lost faith in the Federal government and will get behind candidates that promise to return power to the states. As the progressive coastal elites attempt to stamp their ideology on the country, more than 80% of the nation by geography is saying "no".

Look at the last two elections, vote by county and you understand rural America does not want what the Democrats or big government Republicans are selling.

In fairness, Liz Cheney is not a progressive liberal, but she and her father are big government NeoCons. These days the distinction is being lost on people in rural American.
