At the end of the day, Hitler promised people he would make their lives better much like the progressive liberals are today and to some extent Trump did. But here is the key difference between Hitler and the progressive liberals and Trump.

Both Hitler and the progressive liberals are seeking to consolidate political power, so while Hitler and the progressive liberals are asking people to trade freedom for security, Trump made no such demands.

And that is the key difference those on the left fail to mention. Trump did not attempt to suppress civil liberties... in fact... no one in recent history has been the target of people using their free speech, free press, and freedom to assemble rights more than Trump. He did not attempt to restrict the right to own guns. He loaded up the courts with Constitutional judges not conservative ones.

Now progressive liberals have actually gone so far as to write the FCC asking them to "cancel" conservative news outlets. While the "cancel" culture is exploding across America against targeting conservative outlets like Parler. All the time, the Progressive Liberals are promising "the poor equity" which translates into taking money from one group and giving it to another in exchange for political support... am I being to to cynical? Look at the Covid relief bill... how much goes to those directly hurt by Covid and how much of it goes elsewhere to Democratic constituencies.

It is important to realize, the Hitler actions were designed to consolidate and then stay in power. That is very similar to suggestions by progressive liberals to "court pack", adding states, purge the administration of conservatives, weaponize intelligence agencies, increase government control over the economy, etc. Trump actions were largely designed to weaken Federal power... even his Covid plan largely delegated power to the states.

But you do raise a serious issue... are progressive liberals trying to consolidate power by promising security in exchange for political power. In that sense, they are following Hitler's playbook. The defining "moves" are not rhetoric but actions taken to secure and perpetuate power.
