As the grandfather of five African American children, it was interesting to hear my oldest of high school age speak on the topic. He likes Trump for two reasons... the same two reasons that many African American like Trump.
1) He believes Trumps economic policies have been a boom for African American employment and opportunity
2) He believes Trump's support for charter schools is the only way other African American children are going to get a chance at a good education like he has had.
Cut through all the noise about racism if high school African American children can see that their futures are tied to the quality of their education and the availability of jobs, then it is surprising that older adults don't get it.
He sees thing crystal clear... nothing will provide racial equality until African Americans get access to good educations and good jobs. Everything else is secondary. I think more and more African Americans are waking up to this reality...
My son fell in love with an African American girl he met in college. Her values and intellect fit well with his and education was very important since he wanted to speak with her as an equal.
Democrats would have African Americans believe their skin color is what separates them from other Americans... but in reality for those growing up in poor urban cities or the Appalachia, it is their education.... and that does not matter if your skin is brown or white.
Problem is Democrats run most of the poor school systems in the country and teachers' unions are big contributors, so admitting they are responsible for the plight of inner city African Americans is simply not going to happen.
