As a conservative, I am not a fan of corporeal or mental punishment. It is sad when progressive liberals go after people and get them cancelled. I have seen it become embedded in some school policies.
I wonder how people fail to see that cancel culture behavior is similar to corporeal punishment with respect to the pain it inflicts on others and often far more damaging.
At the end of the day, punishment unless it done out of love with the intention of teaching people right from wrong and the means of redemption, no matter how it is "delivered" is wrong. The exception is when people pose a "threat" to the physical safety of others, then punishment takes on the form of restraint.
My observations are young children "cope" with corporeal punishment far easier than teenagers survive social cancelling and bullying. Neither is right. If you participate in "cancelling" people, please don't virtue signal your abhorrence toward corporeal punishment. You are part of the problem.
