Andy, I don’t think Obama brought people together when he said I have a phone and pen and no how to use them. It was a direct threat to Congress the elected body of the people. He basically thumbed his nose at half the country. He also insulted them when he called many Americans essentially hillbillies with their bibles and guns. Hillary went even further calling them deplorable.
Worst of all, it was Obama that using his skills as a community organizer to leverage racial and ethnic distrust into the political strategy we refer to today as identity politics to win the election in 2012. Of all Obama’s actions this was the most toxic and plagues our country today.
I am not unaware of Trump’s flaws, but you seem unaware of Obama’s flaws.
But the article relates to what Presidents do when they leave office. Presidents are supposed to leave Washington and remove themselves from the political scene in order not to undermine the currently serving President. Obama never did that. And Trump while removing himself from Washington, will likely also stay involved. Neither ex-President is helping in that way.
