Actually, I feel the storming of the Capitol on January 6th by an angry mob that felt their concerns were being ignored was an act of criminal frustration, but not a serious threat to democracy... if it was, then we really need to worry about the money we spend on defense. If our government can't protect itself from a few hundred overweight out of shape people, three of whom died of heart attacks and strokes, we are truly doomed.
On the other hand, the administrative coup Democrats tried to engineer in 2016 under the guise of Russian collusion is truly scary. They helped show the multitude of ways a "party" could engineer a "real attack" on democracy. Then more recently, the attempt to eliminate the filibuster showed an attempt to eliminate the importance of bipartisanship and lastly the consideration of packing the Supreme Court and announcing investigations of the Supreme Court show their lack of respect for the idea of three equal branches of government in order to prevent exactly what Democrats are trying to do.
If you fear for democracy, fear the political that would undermine its institutions designed to protect it, not the nut jobs who out of anger engage in violence.
